Study abroad consultant marketing in Kerala, counted in enrolments, not enquiries

A study abroad consultancy in Kerala rarely runs short of enquiries. It runs short of answers: seminar forms nobody types in, WhatsApp chats from students at midnight left until morning, parents in Doha who never get a call in Malayalam. We build the ads, pages, WhatsApp follow-up and CRM around one number, the cost of an enrolment. Our office is in Kothamangalam, and we visit consultancies in Kochi and the central-Kerala towns. Timing is in our intake and campaign calendar.

Where students slip away

Six ways a consultancy loses students it already paid for

Most of the waste sits after the click, between a student’s first message and the day the parent agrees to pay. Each leak below shows up in an audit within an hour.

Seminar and fair leads left in a register

An education fair or a college seminar brings in two hundred names on paper or in a spreadsheet. By the time someone types them up, the keenest students have booked a session elsewhere. We put a QR code on the stall that opens WhatsApp, so every registration lands in the CRM the same day with a counsellor assigned.

WhatsApp chats nobody answers at night

Students compare consultancies late in the evening, and a father working in the Gulf often messages after his shift. A reply the next morning arrives after two rivals have already called. The assistant answers within minutes, asks the qualifying questions, and leaves your counsellor a summary to pick up at ten.

Ad accounts that belong to the agency

Many consultancies discover, when they change agency, that the Meta ad account, the pixel, the lead forms and even the landing pages sit in someone else’s business portfolio. Years of audience data walk out with the vendor. Everything we set up is opened in your consultancy’s name, with us added as a removable partner.

Counting leads instead of enrolments

A report that says leads cost little tells you nothing about which channel produced students who paid a deposit. Cheap lead forms fill with students who only wanted to know about free education. We track every lead through counselling, application, offer and enrolment, and judge each campaign on the last of those.

Visa headlines that Google now restricts

Ads that promise visa processing or visa assistance sit badly with Google’s policy on government documents, which was tightened on 5 October 2026. Disapproved ads stall a campaign right in the middle of an intake. We write ads around counselling, course choice and admission, and keep visa wording out of headlines.

Promising what no consultancy controls

“Visa guaranteed” and “100% success” posters still appear across Kerala. No consultancy decides a visa or an admission; embassies and universities do. Claims like these invite complaints and erode trust with parents who have heard them before. We help you say what you actually do: honest counselling, careful applications and steady follow-up.

The system

Ads, WhatsApp follow-up and a CRM that ends at enrolment

Three parts that work as one: campaigns written around counselling, a reply on WhatsApp for every student and parent, and a pipeline that records what happened after the first chat.

Campaigns built on counselling

  • Meta lead forms that ask country, course level, intake, current qualification and who will pay the fees
  • Google Search campaigns for course and country counselling, with visa-processing terms added as negatives
  • One landing page per country, listing intakes, entry requirements and documents, dated and checked each season
  • A Malayalam page for parents explaining the process, the costs to expect and how your counsellors work

WhatsApp and AI follow-up

  • The assistant replies within minutes, day or night, in English for students and Malayalam for parents
  • It asks country, course, intake, marks, English test status and budget band, then books a counselling slot
  • Sessions offered at your office or on a video call that a parent in the Gulf can join
  • Gentle reminders before each session, and a counsellor alerted when a student goes quiet for days

CRM and cost per enrolment

  • Every lead logged with its source, branch, counsellor and stage, from first chat to enrolment
  • Stages kept simple: counselled, documents in, applied, offer received, deposit paid, enrolled
  • Qualified stages sent back to Meta and Google, so bidding learns which students actually go ahead
  • A monthly review with you, by intake, country and channel, in cost per enrolment

Google’s policy has long exempted consultants where the focus is on consultation, and since 5 October 2026 only government-authorised providers may promote obtaining documents such as visas. Write ads around counselling and admissions, and expect visa-help wording to be restricted. Our Google Ads guide for study abroad consultants goes through it campaign by campaign.

The Kerala market

Where Kerala’s study abroad demand comes from, district by district

Ernakulam sends more students abroad than any other district, and the towns east and south of Kochi supply a large share of the families who walk into a consultancy.

Going abroad to study has become an ordinary family decision in Kerala. The Kerala Migration Survey 2023, as reported, counted about 2.5 lakh student emigrants, roughly double the 2018 figure, with Ernakulam ahead of every other district and Thrissur and Kottayam close behind. That puts Kochi at the centre of the trade. A family in the city can visit several consultancies in one afternoon, so the first reply and the quality of the counselling decide who keeps the student.

The belt east and south of Kochi matters as much as the city. Students from Kothamangalam, Muvattupuzha, Thodupuzha, Pala and Kottayam travel to a branch in their own town or drive to Kochi for a session. Nursing graduates and nursing aspirants are a visible part of this demand, looking at the UK, Ireland, Germany and Australia. Their questions are about registration and timelines as much as courses, and the honest answer is often longer than a brochure allows.

The person who signs is usually not the person searching. A student shortlists countries on Instagram and YouTube; a parent, sometimes working in the Gulf, decides and pays. Marketing that speaks only to the student stalls at the fee conversation. We write English for students and Malayalam for parents, offer counselling on a video call the parent can join from Dubai or Muscat, and keep the parent in the WhatsApp thread with the student’s agreement.

Country rules move every year, and a consultancy’s pages have to move with them. Canada has capped study permits, the UK is shortening its Graduate visa for applications from January 2027, and Germany’s blocked-account figure is checked each season. Pages that state last year’s rules mislead families and lose trust. We date every country page, link the official source, and plan campaigns around results, intakes and deadlines, which the calendar post sets out month by month.

These are the places Kerala consultancies most often draw students and families from. Each can carry its own ad set, branch page or Business Profile once lead data shows it earns one.

Ways to work with us

Three ways a consultancy can work with us

Audit and fix before the next intake

We trace twenty recent leads, from fair registrations, Meta, Google and walk-ins, to what became of each one. You get a written list of where students were lost, who owns which account, and which ads or pages risk a policy problem. We can fix the top items once, or your team can.

Monthly management across intakes

We run Meta ads, Google Ads, the country pages, the WhatsApp assistant and the CRM as one system, and meet you each month to read cost per enrolment by country and channel. Budgets shift towards the intakes and countries that are filling. Month to month, with a written scope and no lock-in.

Train your own person

Larger consultancies often want a marketer on staff. The academy’s Advanced Performance Marketing course runs for eight weeks, online or in Kerala, and covers Meta, Google and conversion tracking. We set up the accounts and the CRM properly first, then hand them over with written notes.

First 90 days

The first ninety days with a study abroad consultancy

An enrolment can take months, so the first quarter is judged on earlier stages: sessions booked, documents received and applications filed.

Weeks 1–2

Audit and ownership

At your office we open the ad accounts, Business Profile, website and lead sheets with you, confirm who owns each, and trace recent leads to their outcome. If an agency holds anything, we arrange transfer to your consultancy first, before a single setting changes.

Weeks 3–4

Pages, assistant and CRM

Country pages rewritten around counselling and dated, a Malayalam page for parents, the WhatsApp assistant trained on your answers and approved by your counsellors, and CRM stages agreed with the team. Old visa-led ads are paused and rewritten before anything new launches.

Weeks 5–8

Campaigns for the next intake

Meta and Google campaigns go live for the intake your counsellors can still fill, with separate ad sets for students and for parents. Fair and seminar registrations run through the same WhatsApp flow. Every week we check how many leads reached a counselling session.

Weeks 9–12

Read the pipeline, then spend

With applications filed and offers starting to arrive, we compare channels and countries on cost per application and, where it exists, per deposit. Spend moves to what is producing students. The next quarter’s plan is agreed in writing, intake by intake.

Working with us

How we work with consultancies across central Kerala

Kothamangalam office, visits by appointment

Our office is in Kothamangalam, near IGIDS at Nellikuzhi. We come to consultancies in Kochi, Muvattupuzha, Perumbavoor, Aluva and Thodupuzha by appointment for the audit, counsellor training and review meetings. Consultancies in Pala, Kottayam, elsewhere in Kerala or in the Gulf work with us remotely, on WhatsApp and scheduled calls.

Your accounts, your student data

The Meta business portfolio, Google Ads, Business Profile, domain, WhatsApp Business number and CRM are registered to your consultancy. Student data stays in your systems, not ours. We hold manager access you can remove at any time, and if you leave, every lead and campaign stays exactly where it is.

Hours, languages and parents abroad

We work Monday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm IST, and reply to Sunday messages on Monday. The WhatsApp assistant keeps no hours, which matters when a parent in Riyadh writes at night. Pages and ads are written in English and Malayalam by our own team.

What we will not do

We will not write “visa guaranteed”, “guaranteed admission” or success percentages, give students immigration or legal advice, or advertise overseas jobs for a business that is not a registered recruiting agent on the eMigrate list. We do not name clients or buy reviews.

Questions

What consultancy owners ask before hiring us

Can a study abroad consultancy still run Google Ads after the October 2026 policy change?
Yes, if the ads are about counselling, course choice and admission rather than obtaining a visa. Google restricts ads offering help with government documents, visas included, and since 5 October 2026 only government-authorised providers may promote obtaining them. We cannot say exactly how Google will classify a given ad, so we keep visa wording out of headlines and pages and expect visa-help phrasing to be limited.
What does marketing a study abroad consultancy in Kerala cost?
There are two costs. Google and Meta charge the ad spend to your consultancy’s card directly, with no margin added by us. Our fee depends on how many channels and branches we run and whether the WhatsApp assistant and CRM are included, so we quote after the free audit, in writing. Budgets usually rise before intakes, which the scope plans for in advance.
How do you measure cost per enrolment when admissions take months?
Each lead carries its source from the first chat, and your counsellors update its stage in the CRM: counselled, applied, offer, deposit, enrolled. Early in a campaign we judge it on sessions booked and applications filed, because enrolments arrive later. Once an intake closes, we divide each channel’s spend by the students it actually enrolled and plan the next intake from that.
Should a consultancy in Kottayam or Thodupuzha start with Meta ads or Google Ads?
Usually both, in small amounts, because they find different students. Google catches people already searching for a country or course near them; Meta reaches students and parents who have not started searching yet. In towns like Kottayam and Thodupuzha a tight radius, a Malayalam parent ad set and a strong Business Profile often matter more than a large budget.
How do we reach parents who live in the Gulf?
With a separate ad set aimed at Malayalam speakers in the UAE, Qatar, Oman or Saudi Arabia, written in Malayalam and sending them to WhatsApp rather than a long form. The assistant answers in their evening, and counselling is offered on a video call with the student in Kerala, so the parent who pays hears the plan first-hand.
Our visa success record is genuinely good. Why not advertise it?
Because a visa decision belongs to the embassy, and a percentage on a poster reads as a promise you cannot keep. If you also coach for IELTS or similar tests, India’s 2024 coaching advertisement guidelines bar promises of guaranteed selection or scores and set conditions on showing successful students. Better to show what you control: how you counsel, how fast you reply and how carefully you prepare applications.
