Clinic and dental marketing in Dubai, built to DHA and MOHAP rules
Dubai clinics compete community by community, answer to two different regulators depending on where they are licensed, and serve patients who choose by insurance network as often as by reputation. We build the Google visibility, pages, ads and WhatsApp handling for all three — with the advertising approval planned in from the first week.

Dubai is one city, two regulators and a hundred neighbourhoods
Before any campaign, a Dubai clinic has to answer one question: where is the facility licensed? Clinics in mainland Dubai are licensed by the Dubai Health Authority. Clinics inside the Dubai Healthcare City free zone are regulated by the DHCC’s own regulator, DHCR, and submit advertising for approval through its MASAAR system. The content rules, the approval route and the lead time all follow from that answer.
The second question is geography. Dubai residents describe where they live by community — Al Barsha, Karama, JLT, Mirdif — and Google’s map results work at the same scale. A clinic in Al Qusais is not competing with a clinic in Dubai Marina for a toothache search. It is competing with the handful of clinics within a short drive.
The third is insurance. Dubai Law No. 11 of 2013 makes health cover compulsory for residents, and the basic Essential Benefits Plan is allowed a limited provider network — so for a GP or specialist visit, the first question is often “does my plan cover this clinic?” The same basic plan excludes alternative medicine. Since 1 January 2025 it does carry a small dental benefit, up to AED 500 for consultations, fillings, extractions, root canal treatment and scaling with 30% coinsurance, while dental prostheses and orthodontics stay excluded (Source: DHA circular GC 03/2024). So Ayurveda is largely self-pay, and most dental work beyond basic care is self-pay or enhanced-plan business. Your marketing should say which is which.
Get those three right and most of the money wasted on Dubai clinic marketing disappears.
How crowded your community is decides the plan. In the audit we map every competing clinic within a short drive of yours. A long list calls for precise treatment pages and paid search; a short list means a well-run Google profile can carry most of the load.

How patients in Dubai search for a clinic
Dubai search is mobile, multilingual and specific. Each pattern below needs a different page or listing fix — and the Arabic row is the one most clinic websites miss entirely.
| What they type | Who is searching | What they want | What wins the click |
|---|---|---|---|
| dentist al barsha open now | Resident, on a phone | A nearby slot today | A community-specific Google profile with accurate hours and a WhatsApp link that answers |
| clinic that accepts [insurer] near me | Insured resident | Somewhere their plan covers | An insurance page naming the networks you accept, kept current |
| عيادة أسنان في دبي | Arabic speaker | A dental clinic in Dubai | A real Arabic page with its own URL, right-to-left, not a translate button |
| dermatologist dubai female doctor | Patient with a preference | A named doctor who fits | Doctor pages showing gender, languages and licence details as registered |
| malayalam speaking doctor karama | Malayali resident | Care in their own language | A page that states languages spoken, and a front desk that can reply in them |
| ayurveda treatment dubai | Resident or visitor | A licensed centre and what a programme involves | A therapy page that explains the process and duration, with no cure claims |
Illustrative searches, not measured volumes. In the audit we pull your clinic’s actual search terms from Google Business Profile and Search Console.
What we do for each kind of practice in Dubai
Dental clinics
Expensive clicks need exact pages
Dental search in Dubai is among the costliest clinic advertising in the Gulf. Sending that traffic to a homepage burns most of it.
- One page per treatment and one per branch, each written for its community
- A plain answer on insurance: the basic plan covers only basic dental care up to AED 500 and excludes prostheses and orthodontics, so say which enhanced plans you accept and what self-pay involves
- Dentist profiles with the title and licence details as DHA or DHCR registered them
- Paid search on a few high-value treatments, with a tracked number and cost per booked consultation
Clinics & polyclinics
Answer the questions before the call
Dubai patients compare clinics on insurance, doctor, language and wait time — usually before they ever phone.
- Specialty and doctor pages that show languages spoken, gender and OP schedule
- Insurance-network pages your front desk can keep updated — DHA’s standard expressly accepts statements of insurance arrangements
- WhatsApp replies in English and Arabic at once; your staff confirm every booking
- Reminder and recall flows that respect opt-outs and your data obligations
Ayurveda & TCAM centres
Licensed practice, written like one
Ayurveda in Dubai is a licensed category under traditional, complementary and alternative medicine, and DHA’s scope for it excludes surgery and prescription medicines (Source: DHA TCAM Scope of Practice, clause 3.3). The marketing has to read that way too.
- Therapy pages that explain the procedure, duration and practitioner — not outcomes
- Copy stripped of the words DHA’s standard lists by name, such as “miraculous” and “has no side effects”
- Campaigns for residents in English, Arabic and Malayalam, with the translation rules respected
- Enquiry flows for multi-week programmes that capture dates before a call
Mainland DHA or Dubai Healthcare City: what changes for your ads
Both routes end at the same place — approved, compliant advertising — but the paperwork and the lead time differ. Plan the campaign around the slower of the two steps, not the faster.
| Step | Mainland Dubai clinic | Clinic in Dubai Healthcare City |
|---|---|---|
| Facility regulator | Dubai Health Authority (DHA) | Dubai Healthcare City Authority – Regulation (DHCR) |
| Content standard | DHA Standards for Medical Advertisement Content on Social Media (DHA/HRS/HPSD/ST-21)Source: DHA ST-21, version 1.1 | DHCR Advertisement Policy and Procedure |
| Approval before publishing | MOHAP health-advertisement licence, issued to the facility; Medical Director sign-off under DHA’s standard | DHCR approval submitted through MASAAR, at least 14 working days before the ad runsSource: DHCR Advertisement Policy and Procedure, clause 5.1 |
| Government fee | MOHAP: AED 100 plus AED 1,000 a month or AED 3,000 a yearSource: Bird & Bird on MOHAP health advertisement licence fees | Confirm with DHCR for your facility |
| Who applies | The clinic, in its own name — we prepare the material | The clinic, in its own name — we prepare the material |
Fees and processes are the regulators’ published positions at the time of writing. We re-check them before each engagement, and you should confirm with your regulator before a campaign runs.
What survives review
- Services and equipment your licence covers, described factually
- Practitioners’ titles exactly as licensed — “Dr.” only for physicians, dentists and recognised PhD holders (clause 6.2)
- Accurate fees, and the insurance plans and instalment arrangements you regularly accept (Appendix 1)
- Your MOHAP advertisement licence number on the clinic’s official account (clause 5.2)
- Before-and-after images only of the same person, unedited, with the variability and risk statement in the same font size (clause 9.6)
What gets rejected, or worse
- The words clause 6.11 bans by name — “the best”, “the only”, “safest”, “100%”, “immediate results” and more
- Time-limited discounts you cannot honour, and free trials of a medical service (Appendices 1 and 2)
- Sending a patient an appointment time they never asked for (Appendix 1) — which rules out a lot of automated “follow-up”
- Filming or live-streaming during surgery or in procedure rooms (clause 9.7)
- Undisclosed paid relationships with influencers or reviewers (clauses 6.7 and 8.1.7)
One rule that shapes our automation. Because DHA’s standard treats an unsolicited appointment time as unacceptable, the WhatsApp flows we build for Dubai clinics only propose a slot when the patient has asked for one. Reminders go to booked patients; nobody receives a cold “we have kept 4pm for you”.
Not sure which regime you are in? Your facility licence decides it. If it was issued by DHA, you follow the mainland route; if by DHCR, the free-zone route. Our UAE guide covers the other emirates, and dental advertising in the UAE goes deeper on before-and-after rules.
What the first three months look like for a Dubai clinic
Audit on a video call
We review every listing, your site, your current ads and the approval position, and test your WhatsApp and phone response the way a patient would — including after hours.
Approvals in motion
Creative is prepared to your regulator’s standard and the licence or DHCR application goes in under your clinic’s name. Listing and site fixes, which need no ad approval, start in parallel.
Pages that answer patients
Treatment, doctor, community and insurance pages in English, then Arabic versions of the pages that matter most. Each gets its own URL so search engines can index it.
Paid search, once approved
Campaigns go live only after approval exists, on tracked numbers and per-treatment landing pages. The monthly report is in cost per booked consultation, in dirhams.
How we work with Dubai clinics from Kerala
Remote, and honest about it
We have no Dubai office and do not rent a virtual one to look local. Work runs on WhatsApp, video calls and shared dashboards, and the team you speak to is the team doing the work.
Covering the Dubai week
Our hours cover Monday to Saturday mornings and afternoons in Dubai. Many clinics open on Sundays; the WhatsApp front desk we set up answers patients every day, and anything it cannot handle waits for your staff.
Malayalam when your clinic needs it
Many Dubai clinics are run by Kerala doctors or serve large Malayali communities. We can write and answer in Malayalam as well as English and Arabic, with the translation obligations for other-language ads handled properly.
No invented proof
We have not yet published healthcare case studies and will not put made-up numbers on this page. What you can check is our registered company, our report format, and the sources behind every rule we cite.
