Beeps Academy’s Data Analytics with AI course teaches logistics and supply chain staff SQL, Python and Power BI in 8 weeks, at its Kothamangalam campus near Kochi or live online. The fee is ₹19,500. You learn to measure on-time delivery, OTIF, cycle times and freight cost from your own kind of data, and build portfolio projects on public shipment datasets such as Olist’s 100,000 e-commerce orders.
Why it matters

Every shipment leaves a trail of timestamps. Few teams read them.

A single consignment can generate a booking, a pick confirmation, a gate-out, a dozen tracking scans, a proof of delivery and an invoice, each in a different system. The questions a manager asks are simple: are we on time, what is it costing, where is it going wrong? Answering them means joining those records, cleaning their timestamps and agreeing what “on time” means. That is analytics work, and in most freight and warehousing companies it is still done by hand in Excel.

Logistics is also one of the sectors where India is investing hardest. India ranked 38th of 139 countries in the World Bank’s 2023 Logistics Performance Index, up from 44th in 2018. In Kerala, the Vizhinjam International Seaport was formally commissioned on 2 May 2025, as Onmanorama reported, adding a deep-water transshipment port to the Kochi container terminal, and to the Gulf-to-Kerala cargo trade.

The people best placed to analyse this data are the ones who handle it: dispatchers, warehouse supervisors, documentation and customs staff, customer service teams and planners. They know which scan is unreliable and which customer’s promised date is fiction. Adding SQL and Power BI to that knowledge is a shorter step than it looks.

What you will be able to do

Six logistics questions, and how you will answer them

These come up in every freight, courier, 3PL and distribution business. The last column shows the method the course gives you.

The questionWhere the data usually sitsHow you answer it
Which lanes and carriers miss the promised delivery date most often?Shipment records from the TMS or tracking platform, with promised and actual delivery timesOn-time percentage by lane, carrier and week in SQL, with a Power BI drill-down to the late consignments
Are we delivering complete orders on time (OTIF)?Order lines, dispatch records and proof-of-delivery dataDAX measures for OTIF and line fill rate, trended against target, with the failure reason split out
How long does stock wait between arrival, put-away and dispatch?WMS receipts, put-away and pick confirmationsPandas to calculate dock-to-stock and order cycle times per shift, with outliers flagged rather than averaged away
Which customers and SKUs drive most of the handling effort?Order history, pick counts, weights and volumesAn ABC (Pareto) analysis in SQL and a simple cost-to-serve view that sales and operations can both read
How many vehicles and staff will next month need?Daily shipment or order volumes for the last one to two yearsA seasonal baseline and a regression forecast in Python, checked against what actually happened last year
Where are freight invoices costing more than agreed?Carrier invoices, rate cards and container or shipment tracking eventsA SQL reconciliation of invoiced against contracted rates, with demurrage and detention days flagged for follow-up

Field names and system names change from company to company. The analysis does not.

Where the data lives

The systems behind a logistics report

Most of the course’s cleaning practice maps directly onto these sources.

📦
Transport and tracking
Transport management systems, courier platforms and GPS or telematics feeds record bookings, scans, routes and delivery attempts. Expect duplicate scans, events logged in different time zones and status codes that changed meaning halfway through the year.
🏬
Warehouse management
A WMS logs receipts, put-away, picks, packs and stock counts. The useful measures, such as dock-to-stock time or pick rate per hour, come from subtracting one timestamp from another, which is exactly where dirty data hurts most.
🧾
ERP and accounts
SAP, Oracle, Odoo and, in smaller Kerala firms, Tally hold orders, invoices and customer masters. Joining them to operational data is how you move from “how many” to “how much it cost”.
🛃
Documents and customs
Bills of lading, airway bills, customs declarations and carrier invoices arrive as PDFs and spreadsheets. Getting their reference numbers to match the shipment records is often the first real project a new analyst is given.
The course, mapped to your work

How each block of the 8 weeks applies to logistics

The syllabus is the same for every learner, and the week-by-week detail is on the Data Analytics with AI course page. This is how each block shows up in a logistics role.

🐍
Weeks 1–2 · Python & Pandas
Parse tracking events, convert Gulf and India timestamps to one time zone, remove duplicate scans and calculate how long each consignment spent at each stage.
🗄️
Week 3 · SQL
Join shipments, orders, customers and carriers. Window functions find each consignment’s first and last scan, and the gap between promised and actual delivery.
📊
Weeks 4–5 · Power BI
A control-tower style report: on-time and OTIF by lane, exceptions by reason, warehouse cycle times and a page your customers’ account managers can actually use.
📈
Week 6 · Machine learning basics
Forecast next month’s volume and build a simple late-delivery risk model with logistic regression, then test whether it beats the planner’s gut feel.
🤖
Week 7 · AI tools and n8n
Draft SQL with ChatGPT or Claude, and build an n8n workflow that sends the morning list of at-risk shipments to the operations team by email.
🎯
Week 8 · Capstone
An end-to-end logistics project, from raw shipment data to a dashboard and a short presentation of what operations should change.
Portfolio

Portfolio projects on public shipment data

Customer and shipment records belong to your employer and their customers. Build what you publish on open datasets like these.

🛒
Delivery promise vs reality
Olist’s Brazilian e-commerce dataset on Kaggle covers about 100,000 real, anonymised orders from 2016 to 2018, with purchase, carrier hand-over, delivery and estimated delivery dates plus freight value. Measure on-time delivery by state and seller, and freight cost against distance.
⏱️
Late-delivery risk model
The DataCo supply chain dataset, published on Mendeley Data by Fabian Constante, Fernando Silva and António Pereira, records scheduled and actual shipping days, shipping mode and a late-delivery flag. Find which modes and regions run late, then build and honestly evaluate a model.
🚛
Fleet and fuel log
Create a vehicle trip and fuel table yourself in Python, with odometer errors and missing fills built in, then calculate cost per kilometre, utilisation and idle days. Synthetic data you designed is easier to explain in an interview than a tutorial you copied.
🔒
Your company’s data, with permission
An anonymised extract can become your capstone if your employer agrees in writing. Replace customer and consignee names with codes, drop phone numbers and addresses, and publish only aggregated results.
Customer data

Consignee details are personal data. Treat them that way.

Shipment files are full of names, phone numbers and home addresses, and those are personal data under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and under data protection laws in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states. Customer rate cards and volumes are commercially sensitive as well. Neither belongs in a public AI chatbot.

The course uses AI assistants for writing SQL and Python and for explaining results, and it teaches the habits that make that safe. Share the table structure with three invented rows instead of a real export. Mask or remove personal fields before any analysis leaves your company’s systems. Check every number the assistant gives you against the source. When your employer’s policy is stricter than this, the policy wins.

Careers

Roles this leads to, and what it does not cover

📋
MIS and reporting roles
In Kerala many logistics and distribution firms call this role MIS executive: the person who owns the daily and monthly reports. SQL and Power BI turn it from copy-and-paste into something a manager relies on.
💼
Analyst and planner roles
Titles include logistics analyst, supply chain analyst, transport or fleet planner, inventory analyst, demand planner and control-tower analyst, in 3PLs, freight forwarders, couriers, e-commerce fulfilment and retail distribution, in Kerala and across the GCC.
🏗️
A better version of your current job
Operations coordinators, warehouse supervisors and customer service leads who can pull their own numbers make faster decisions and are usually the first considered when an analyst post opens internally.
↗️
What it is not
This is not a supply chain management certification such as ASCM’s CSCP or a CIPS qualification, and it does not teach freight forwarding or customs procedure. There is no job guarantee, and we do not publish salary figures.
Timings and fee

Campus near Kochi, or live online from the Gulf

If you are in Kerala, you can attend at the Kothamangalam campus in Ernakulam district, about 45 minutes from Kochi, in the morning (10:00 AM–12:30 PM), the evening (6:30–9:00 PM) or on Saturdays (9:00 AM–1:00 PM). Weekday batches meet twice a week, Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday.

Sessions are recorded and shared within 24 hours, which helps if your shift ends with the last truck rather than the clock.

The fee is ₹19,500, charged in Indian rupees, and can be paid in instalments. There is also a Malayalam-medium online batch, and a guide to studying online from the UAE if you are deciding from the Gulf.

Straight answers

Before you enquire

We are a data and automation academy, not a logistics institute. The academy belongs to Beeps Digital, which builds AI and automation systems for businesses. Our trainers teach analysis; your logistics experience is what makes it useful.

The internship is in Kerala. The 4-week internship that follows the course is arranged with partner companies in Kerala. It suits learners on the campus batches and anyone moving back; Gulf learners who stay put take the course without it.

The certificate is ours, not a university’s. Beeps Digital Private Limited issues it to record the training. Employers will look harder at your dashboard and your SQL than at the certificate, so that is what the course spends its time on.

Frequently Asked Questions

Logistics & supply chain data analytics — FAQs

Do I need to know coding or statistics before joining?
No. The course starts with Python basics and uses AI assistants to draft and explain code from the first week. If you can build a pivot table and a VLOOKUP in Excel, you are ready to begin.
Will the classes use logistics data?
Classes teach the tools on general business data, following the same syllabus for every learner. You apply them to logistics in your portfolio and capstone, using public shipment datasets such as Olist’s e-commerce orders or the DataCo supply chain dataset, or an anonymised company extract approved in writing.
Can I attend in person from Kochi or Ernakulam?
Yes. The campus is at Nellikuzhi, Kothamangalam, about 45 minutes from Kochi, with morning, evening and Saturday batches. Live online places are available if the travel does not suit your shifts.
Is this a supply chain management course?
No. It is a data analytics course for people who work in logistics and supply chain. It does not replace a supply chain certification such as ASCM’s CSCP or a CIPS qualification, but it gives you the analysis skills those roles increasingly expect.
What time are the online classes in the UAE or Saudi Arabia?
The evening batch runs 6:30–9:00 PM India time. That is 5:00–7:30 PM in the UAE and Oman and 4:00–6:30 PM in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain. Recordings are shared within 24 hours if you miss a session.
How much is the fee?
The fee is ₹19,500 for the 8-week course, with instalments available. The software used in class, including Python, MySQL, Power BI Desktop and Tableau Public, is free.
Will this get me a logistics analyst job?
It gives you the skills and portfolio that logistics analyst and MIS roles ask for, but no course can guarantee a job. The quickest route is often internal: offer to build the report your team already struggles with, and let the result make the case.
